RULES
Rule No. 1 - Images and Media
Signatures must be equal or smaller to the size of 450x200 Avatars must be equal or smaller to the size of 120x120 Nothing that is pornography or anything racist.
Rule No. 2 - Posting
Do not all-caps in a post. Do not spam unless it is in The Crap section.The Crap Section is still subject to rules protecting users against offensive material, the Crap Section is not the place to flame or harass. Do not Flame, Insult, or Troll. Do not smiley spam. Do not post shock sites. Please be nice to everyone; common courtesy will go a long way. Please be patient with new users. Please help other members if you can. STAY ON TOPIC. If you wish to start a new conversation; make a new thread.
The decisions of moderators and/or admins are final. Bans are appealable with the consent of administrators and moderators.
Rule No. 3 - No "Offensive" Posts, Links or Images
You may not post anything that is: Obscene Any members who post pornography or anything that may be considered obscene will lose their ability to post images, movies, or other media. Violations may also result in a ban. Vulgar Any members who make vulgar comments will have their posts reviewed, the findings of member reviews will determine any disciplinary action. Hateful Any members who make hateful comments towards other members for any reason will be subject to community mediation. Noncompliance with community mediation may result in a temporary ban. Threatening Any members who make any threatening comments that involve threat of physical or verbal abuse will be warned, and will be banned if they choose to continue. Racist - Any members making racist comments WILL be banned, Bans involving the violation of this rule may or may not be subject to appeal. Sexually Discriminatory Any members who break this rule will be given a warning. Violating local or international copyright laws - The Yabber will not be held responsible for any violations of copyright laws, local or international.
This includes links in your signature, profile, bookmarks as well as posted images, photos and avatars. Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not and an appeals process is available if you feel as though you have been banned or have had your account suspended for any amount of time. This also includes NO discussion of the following: 1. Piracy or Warez 2. Illegal file downloading 3. Shock sites (Links)
Keep fights between members in PM's or Messengers. Do NOT post any personal information on any member unless if you have permission of the person. This includes their IP, Addresses, and any other personal information. Violation of this rule may result in a ban, or the other end of the stick, you decide.
Rule No. 4 - Language Restrictions Please make all posts in English; though we are acceptant of all races, cultures, nationalities, and religions; we are a mostly English speaking community.
Rule No. 5 - User name Restrictions You may not register names for the promotion or advertising of any website, forums, email address, business, or other entities. Yabber moderators and admins are exempt from this rule. Please do not make multiple accounts, any duplicates or aliases will be promptly removed. Do not register names with excessive special characters, especially '\' and '/', or any names which may be misleading. Examples of this include registering a name containing 'admin' or 'administrator'. You must not register names which may be confused with a member of the Yabbers staff. Registering names that resemble a member of staff will result in the account being deleted without notice.
What happens if I break a rule? You will be given 3 warnings. 1st warning you will be suspended for 1 day. 2nd warning you will be suspended for 3 days. 3rd warning you will get suspended for 1 week. Administrators may also Ban you without any warnings.
Once you have been warned 3 times then you are permanently banned. The administrators and moderators of the Yabber Forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread or post, or suspend or ban any member for any breach of the rules or for any other reason with or without warning or notice. Moderators are subject to a performance review if any conflicts may arise.
You may ignore anyone on the forum by using the ignore function in your profile.
FAQ
What if I see a message posted that breaks a rule? Please report these posts or threads to the administrator or moderator of the forum by submitting a Private Message, and the post or thread will be reviewed and action taken as soon as possible. Posting in a thread, or posting about, the breakage of a warming or even a Permanent Ban. So just report it and leave it. Members who report posts are GUARANTEED anonymity.
What is my responsibility as a member? Please keep these 5 rules in mind when you post. The administrators and moderators of the Yabber Forum have the right to change these rules at any time without notice. It is the responsibility of every member to remain updated with the current rules. Administrators are not completely enforced to follow these rules, but it helps a lot that admins and mods set a good example so that members don't have question about different rules. But first and foremost, we would like to encourage all members to do the right thing in any situation. Good deeds are often rewarded.
Why have rules in the first place? The rules are there for the protection of the community as a whole and to prevent abuse, conflict and disharmony within the forums. Persistent abuse of any member will result in termination of the violating members account.
Are mods and admins above tbe rules? No. All mods on the Yabber are longtime members of the community and are to follow all rules unless explicity noted. Moderators and administrators are here to help you with any trouble.
